Mengo vocational youth centre is a social youth centre that aims at transforming youth through employable practical skills to reduce the increasing un employment levels in Uganda. It started in 2011 as a community based training centre to majority train skills to vulnerable youths in wakiso town council. it’s on record that wakiso district is among the densely populated districts with unemployed youths in particular wakiso town council, basing on that ground, we saw it necessary to train teenager mothers, orphans and school dropouts with employable skills for self-sustainability , as our major strategic plan.

We engage youths in vocational entrepreneurship, talent development in sports, music dance and drama, Practical business trainings, business development, mentorship and professionalizing their initiatives to sustain their livelihoods.

We use inspirational and motivational talks from successful entrepreneurs, employment and business experts to inspire youths to be to develop their skills. They are encouraged to start-up with the little they can get for sustainability. With our unique approach to vocational skills trainings, we bring together change agents and well-wishers from all sector with talents and abilities enabling to create more jobs and employment opportunities.

We provide mentorship and internship programs to unemployed youth from different companies/NGOs. These are trained in different skills and we assist them to start up their own initiatives. We also act as a source of information, monitoring, mentoring and coaching, capacity building and participation in different community initiatives to improve the wellbeing of youths in their communities.

We are located along Hoima Road, Kayunga – Wakiso Town Council, Wakiso District, 100 meters off Bugembegembe Road.
